A relative newcomer to Westford, EVident Battery is committed to advancing battery inspection technology and supporting global efforts to reduce carbon emissions. Founded in 2023, their 12,000 sq. ft engineering and testing facility is located at 5 Lan Drive in Primrose Park, part of a 225,000 sq. ft. office and retail park located on Route 110, less than a mile from Interstate 495.
Founded by former Tesla engineer and Georgia Tech PhD, Jinqiang Ning, Evident Battery was conceived during a discussion of the challenges of buying and selling used EVs, specifically the issue of inadequate battery service and inspection on the mechanical side in the EV market. Available solutions focus on electrical measurements of battery cells but cannot detect mechanical faults such as loosen fasteners, adhesive and welding failures inside the battery pack. Using a combination of engineering skills and machine learning knowledge, the company has developed a platform that delivers AI-powered, non-destructive monitor and inspection solution for EV batteries by translating proprietary vibration signal data into actionable battery health assessments. By providing solutions that meet the performance needs of modern mobility applications while minimizing environmental impact, EVident Battery is poised to make a significant contribution to the clean energy economy.
Evident Battery closed a $3.2 million seed funding round in 2024 to support their mission to accelerate the development of next-generation battery monitor and inspection solutions. In March of 2025, Evident Battery received $350,000 from the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center’s (MassCEC) Innovate Mass Program to accelerate the development and deployment of its advanced, AI-powered diagnostic solutions for electric vehicle (EV) battery pack health.
