Gunsmith/Dealer/Ammunition License


In addition to having a Federal Firearms License (FFL), Massachusetts requires that gunsmiths, firearms dealers, and dealers that wish to sell ammunition obtain a dealer’s license from their local licensing authority, which in Westford is the police department.  

 

To apply for a firearms dealer license provide the following:

 

  1. A copy of your Federal Firearms License (FFL)
  2. Completed firearms dealer license application (click the "dealer license application" link here or go to forms on this website, or a hard copy can be picked up at the station) 
  3. Cash or a check for $100. made out to the Town of Westford

 

There is no additional fee for a blacksmith license if the applicant pays the fee for the firearms dealer license.
