Westford Partnership for Children (WPC) After School Enrichment for Grades K-8: Session 5
Register at any time

WPC After School Enrichment Session 5, April 30-June 21, is underway. Session 5 includes activities such as Bead Mania, Floor Hockey, Math Games, and Outdoor Fun. Homework blocks are always included in the daily curriculum and are supported by each school’s site director and staff.  The last day of school is June 22 – there will be no WPC coverage on that day. Westford Partnership for Children (WPC) is a Parks & Recreation sponsored After School Enrichment Program in collaboration with Westford Public Schools. The WPC program for students K-8 provides a safe, stimulating, and fun environment Monday through Friday, from school dismissal until 5:45 p.m. 


More Spring Programs Starting Soon 

Tai Chi on the Beach: STARTING TUESDAY MAY 22.
Instructor Dave Crocker is teaching an eight-week session of tai chi (Yang Tao™ form) at Forge Pond. This moving meditation offers health benefits such as improved balance and stress reduction. During inclement weather, classes will be held at 22 Town Farm Road.

Archery:
The sport of archery is known to improve focus, balance, and strength. Lessons will concentrate on eye dominance, archery safety rules, warm-up exercises, and proper shooting techniques. Adult and Child Archery, spring session 3 start date: June 11. Archery for Youth, ages 8-17, spring session 3 start date: June 13.

Other upcoming spring programs include: CPR, AED, and First Aid (Thursday, June 14); and No-Bake Cooking for Little Chefs for ages 3-5 (Session 4 start date: Monday, June 4). For those who like to drop-by, check out Parks & Rec’s drop-in Volley Ball and Badminton programs. Summer Weekly Programs – Week 1 starting June 25

Parks & Rec's Summer Weekly Programs for ages 4-16 are fun, flexible, and filled with activities chosen for each program's mission and age. Visit About Summer Weekly Programs at westfordrec.com to learn more about these comprehensive summer programs, which include Summer Beach Party; Kids Club; Destination Exploration; Ready, Set, Go!; Leadership; and Venture Out –  a new program designed just for Middle Schoolers. Those who register and pay in full for select Summer Weekly programs by June 1st will receive 10% off the weekly fee.


National Learn to Row day

Join Westford Community Rowing at Forge Pond in Westford on Saturday, June 2, from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Learn about the basics of rowing technique and equipment use while experiencing what it is like to row on the water (weather permitting). WCR members will be available to answer questions about the sport of rowing, and the WCR youth and adult programs they offer year-round.


Marcus Lewis Tennis at Stony Brook Middle School Courts in Westford

The Marcus Lewis Tennis Center WESTFORD JUNIOR OPEN will be held on June 2 and 3 for ages 10-18. Registration deadline is May 29 at noon. To register, contact Director of Junior Development, Pete Kolifrath, at, pete@marcuslewisenterprises.com.

A full range of tennis programs for squirts, youth, and adults will be starting this June in Westford, including Beginner/Intermediate for Adults; Tennis for High School for ages 14-18; Youth Orange, Green, and Yellow Ball for ages 8-12 plus; and Peewee Summer Mini Clinics for ages 5 and 6. Parks and Fields Update

2018 Field Use Permits can be found on the Parks & Recreation page at westfordma.gov. For more detailed information about Westford’s Parks and Fields, see the Parks & Recreation Facility List on westfordma.gov. During inclement weather, some fields may be closed. For information regarding field status, call 978-692-5532.


Westford’s Waterfront

June 17th is the opening date for Forge Pond and Edwards Beach. For information on beach and concession stand hours, and other waterfront offerings, like Swim Instruction, and Art at the Beach, visit About Waterfront at westfordrec.com.

Parks & Recreation is actively recruiting experienced life guards for our Parks & Recreation Summer Weekly programs and swim instruction classes. Interested individuals should call Westford Parks & Recreation at 978-692-5532.
