The National Weather Service has issued a Blizzard Warning for Middlesex County, including the Town of Westford, in effect from 4:00 PM Sunday, February 22, 2026, through 7:00 AM Tuesday, February 24, 2026.
Storm Conditions
Blizzard conditions are expected, including:
• Total snowfall accumulations of 12 to 22 inches
• Wind gusts up to 55 mph
• Blowing and drifting snow resulting in near-zero visibility
Impacts
• Travel may be very difficult to impossible
• Hazardous conditions are expected to impact Monday morning and evening commutes
• Strong winds may result in downed trees and power outages
Residents are strongly urged to restrict travel to emergencies only once conditions deteriorate.
Trash & Recycling Collection
There will be no trash and recycling collection on Monday, February 23. Collection will operate on a one-day delay for the remainder of the week, with service running Tuesday, February 24 through Saturday, February 28.
Town Offices & Municipal Facilities
Due to the severity of the storm, all Town of Westford offices and municipal facilities will be closed on Monday, February 23, 2026. Essential public safety operations will continue.
Parking Ban
To support snow removal operations and maintain roadway safety, residents are reminded that on-street parking is prohibited during snowstorms and while snow removal and cleanup operations are underway.
Public Safety Guidance
• Travel should be limited to emergency purposes only
• If travel is unavoidable, carry a winter survival kit
• If stranded, remain with your vehicle
• Monitor weather conditions and Town updates closely
DPW and public safety crews will be working throughout the storm and recovery period to maintain emergency access and roadway safety as conditions allow.
