UPDATED: Please be advised that as a mark of respect for the memory of former Vice President Richard "Dick" Cheney and in accordance with Section 6A(a) of Chapter 2 of the General Laws and Section 7(m) of Title 4 of the United States Code, Governor Maura T. Healey has ordered the United States of America flag and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts flag be lowered to half-staff at all state buildings beginning immediately today, November 4, 2025, until sunset, until the date of interment which has been set for Thursday, November 20, 2025.
This gubernatorial order applies to:
The main or administration building of each public institution of the Commonwealth, e.g. town and city halls
Other state-owned or state-controlled buildings
All state military installations
