Starting Monday July 31st, the Town’s contractor will be pulverizing, grading, and paving Plain Road between Oak Hill Road and Polley Road. This construction process, known as full depth reclamation, is an in-place recycling method that pulverizes existing asphalt pavement and mixes it with the underlying gravel in order to create a more sustainable and solid structural foundation for new road pavement. The road surface will remain gravel for a few days while the contractor reshapes, compacts, and stabilizes the gravel surface before the initial base course of asphalt pavement can be placed. It is anticipated that this work will take approximately one week to complete. The same process is scheduled to begin on Moore Road once Plain Road is completed. Roads will be detoured during the day as necessary to safely complete this work. Please reduce vehicle speeds and use caution when traveling through the construction zone.
