About
The 5 volunteer Planning Board members are elected for 5-year terms. The Board has several major functions:
- To establish planning goals and to prepare plans to implement these goals, which take the form of the Town’s Zoning Bylaws;
- Administer the Subdivision Control Law, which establishes the process for development of new roads and new housing units;
- Issue Special Permits in cases such as flood plains, stormwater, signs, scenic roads, etc.;
- Oversee the Site Plan Review process.
Plans are carefully scrutinized for roadway design, drainage, soil conditions, location of structures, safety, and a host of other criteria to make sure that projects have a positive impact on our community.
The Board normally meets on the first and third Monday of the month, but always check the schedule or the agenda to be sure in case of holidays and such.
The 2022 meeting dates and deadlines can be found below.
