Cable TV Survey 2023

What Is It?

In order to operate cable TV services in the town, carriers like Comcast and Verizon must get a license from the Town. These licenses renew ever 5-10 years, and both the Comcast and Verizon licenses are coming up soon. That means we are getting ready to start negotiations with them towards the end of 2023. The Communications Advisory Committee want to hear from as many people as possible about your cable TV service so we can negotiate to represent you accurately.

In addition to this survey the committee will hold a public hearing before renewing the contracts.

Who We Want To Take The Survey

We want to hear from as many residents of Westford as possible, regardless of whether you subscribe to dedicated cable TV service. Funding for WestfordCAT comes almost exclusively from a small surcharge on cable TV bills, not bills for Internet data or phone service. As more people 'cut the cord' and watch streaming services over the Internet without subscribing to cable TV the money for WestfordCAT is declining. We want to know how you feel about that, what is driving the trend, and what we might be able to do to secure the future of WestfordCAT.

Take The Survey

The survey is hosted on Survey Monkey and can be taken through this link:
