*Please note that because of limited pediatric vaccine, we request that those under the age of 36 months receive their vaccine from their MD.*

2008 Flu Recommendations
The flu vaccine is recommended for the following groups of people:
Persons at Increased Risk for Influenza-Related Complications:
- All children 6 months- 18years
- All persons > 50 years of age
- Women who will be pregnant during influenza season
- Residents of long-term care facilities and persons with chronic medical conditions
- Persons 6 months– 18 years of age who are receiving long-term aspirin therapy
Persons Who Can Transmit Influenza to Persons at High Risk:
- Personnel in both hospital and outpatient settings, including emergency response workers
- Employees of long-term care facilities who have contact with patients or residents
- Employees at assisted living and other residences for persons in high-risk groups
- Persons who provide home care to persons in high-risk groups
- Household contacts (including children) of persons in high-risk groups
- Household contacts and out-of-home caretakers of children 0- 59 months of age.
General Population, depending on vaccine availability:
- Persons who provide essential community services
- Students and other persons in institutional settings, (e.g., dormitories)
- Certain travelers
- Anyone who wishes to reduce the likelihood of becoming ill with influenza or transmitting influenza to others should they become infected
Must receive from pediatric provider- Persons > 6 months of age who:
- Have chronic cardiovascular or pulmonary conditions, including asthma
- Have required regular medical follow-up or hospitalization during the preceding year due to chronic metabolic diseases
- Have any condition that can compromise respiratory function or the handling of respiratory secretions or that can increase the risk of aspiration
