Friends of the Cameron Senior Center
BYLAWS

Dear Resident of Westford,                                                      March 2007

The Friends of the Cameron Senior Center are conducting their 2007 membership drive. We are a non-profit corporation formed to raise funds not provided by local or state government for our center.

The Cameron Senior Center houses the offices of the Council on Aging (COA), Veterans' Agent, Community Food Pantry, and Middlesex Railroad Club. Services offered at the Center are Transportation, Social Services, Outreach, Meals on Wheels, Wellness Activties, Educational and Social Opportunities, Respite and Companion Care, and the Adult Supportive Day Program. Additional offerings include medical equipment loans, money management, information and referrals, health clinics, fuel assistance, tax relief programs, SHINE Counseling and meeting space for town boards and committees. Services that have expanded this past year are Friendly Visitor, Notary Public, advocacy and wellness activities. Social activities include dances, art, handcrafts, walking group, cards, aerobics and pool tables. Additional services offered this past year are "Baby Boomers Guide to Care Giving for an Elder", "My Senior Center" computer program, crbbage and golf.

As we grow, so do our expenses. In 2006 we subsidized programs and activities for seniors, and paid for interior painting and enhancements at the Senior Center. Our goal for 2007 is $20,000. We hope to achieve this goal through your generosity, donations, a fair, raffles, memory hearts, and the sale of Cameron Senior Center replicas.

As for the future, the "Friends" are planning to continue to raise funds to underwrite major and minor requests and in turn donate them to the Council on Aging. Please help us to continue to improve and provide more services for the people of Westford. As our clientele advance their knowledge base, we strive to keep up with increasing demands for services and to improve communications with other agencies in the most cost effective fashion.

Donations of any amount are always welcome, however, for a donation of $100 your name will be permanently displayed on a plaque at the Senior Center . A donation of $500 or more will allow a memorial name to be inscribed on a plaque. You are welcome to attend the Friends meeting held on the first Thursday of the month at 12:30 PM.

Thank you for your support,

Helena Crocker, President
