Welcome to Online Permitting, a new service from the Town of Westford.

Due to a streamlined process, if you submit your application through Online Permitting, it will be processed in less time than using the conventional paper forms*

Please follow the steps bellow when using Online Permitting to submit your application.  For more detailed help, please follow the "Help Instructions" link above.

For Residential & Commercial Permits:

1. Fill out the Online Application
2. Print and sign the application (you will need to present the signed copy when you pick up your permit)
3. Submit the electronic form.
4. If you have provided an email address**, you should receive a notification that your application has been submitted for review
5. For applications regarding roofs, siding, or windows, please bring application fee and license (if applicable) to the building department to obtain your permit
6. For all other Residential and Commercial applications, please submit all required documentation ( view Application Checklist) to the building department either in person or by mail.  If submitting by mail, be sure to reference the application number and site address on all materials.
7. After your application has been reviewed and all required departments and/or committees have approved your application you will be notified that your permit is ready.  At that time, please bring your payment to the Building Department and pick up your permit.

For Plumbing, Electrical & Gas Fitting Permits:

1. Fill out the Online Application
2. Print and sign the application (you will need to present the signed copy when you pick up your permit)
3. Submit the electronic form.
4. If you have provided an email address**, you should receive a notification that your application has been submitted for review
5. Bring the signed application, payment for the permit, and any applicable documentation to the building department to obtain your permit

For Demolition Permits:

1. Fill out the Online Application
2. Print and sign the application (you will need to present the signed copy when you pick up your permit)
3. Submit the electronic form.
4. If you have provided an email address**, you should receive a notification that your application has been submitted for review
5. Obtain signatures from all required Utilities
6. Submit signed copy of application to the building department for remaining processing
7. After your application has been reviewed and all required departments and/or committees have approved your application you will be notified that your permit is ready.  At that time, please bring your payment to the Building Department and pick up your permit.

For All Other Permits:

1. Fill out the Online Application
2. Print and sign the application (you will need to present the signed copy when you pick up your permit)
3. Submit the electronic form.
4. If you have provided an email address**, you should receive a notification that your application has been submitted for review
5. Please submit all required documentation ( view Application Checklist) to the building department either in person or by mail.  If submitting by mail, be sure to reference the application number and site address on all materials.
6. After your application has been reviewed and all required departments and/or committees have approved your application you will be notified that your permit is ready.  At that time, please bring your payment to the Building Department and pick up your permit.



IMPORTANT:
Submission of this application does not represent authorization to begin work, nor does it guarantee that a permit will be issued
Work may only begin after Building Commissioner signs permit and permit is properly posted.

Please be sure that the information is accurate prior to submitting your permit application.
